Recordings in Moodle

When a meeting is recorded, the recording is stored by SoftSysVideo and made accessible through the Moodle BigBlueButton activity — just like standard BigBlueButton.

Recordings must be enabled per activity by the teacher when creating or editing the BigBlueButton activity:

  1. Edit the activity
  2. Enable the Recording checkbox
  3. Save

Students do not see a recording option — recording is controlled by the teacher at the activity level.

After a recorded meeting ends, the recording is processed and becomes available. Processing typically takes a few minutes.

To view recordings:

  1. Go to the BigBlueButton activity in the Moodle course
  2. Click the Recordings tab
  3. Click Play next to any recording

Recordings open in the SoftSysVideo player directly in the browser.

Teachers can manage recordings from the Moodle activity:

ActionHow
PlayClick Play next to the recording
Hide from studentsClick Unpublish — the recording is still stored but not visible to students
Show to studentsClick Publish — makes a hidden recording visible again
DeleteClick Delete — permanently removes the recording

If your plan includes AI features, SoftSysVideo generates an AI summary and transcript for each recorded meeting. These are accessible from the Dashboard → Recordings section in app.softsysvideo.com.

Recordings are stored indefinitely unless you delete them manually. Storage usage is reflected in your billing dashboard.
