Recordings in Moodle
Recordings in Moodle
Section titled “Recordings in Moodle”When a meeting is recorded, the recording is stored by SoftSysVideo and made accessible through the Moodle BigBlueButton activity — just like standard BigBlueButton.
Enabling recordings
Section titled “Enabling recordings”Recordings must be enabled per activity by the teacher when creating or editing the BigBlueButton activity:
- Edit the activity
- Enable the Recording checkbox
- Save
Students do not see a recording option — recording is controlled by the teacher at the activity level.
Viewing recordings
Section titled “Viewing recordings”After a recorded meeting ends, the recording is processed and becomes available. Processing typically takes a few minutes.
To view recordings:
- Go to the BigBlueButton activity in the Moodle course
- Click the Recordings tab
- Click Play next to any recording
Recordings open in the SoftSysVideo player directly in the browser.
Managing recordings (teacher)
Section titled “Managing recordings (teacher)”Teachers can manage recordings from the Moodle activity:
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Play | Click Play next to the recording |
| Hide from students | Click Unpublish — the recording is still stored but not visible to students |
| Show to students | Click Publish — makes a hidden recording visible again |
| Delete | Click Delete — permanently removes the recording |
AI-powered summaries
Section titled “AI-powered summaries”If your plan includes AI features, SoftSysVideo generates an AI summary and transcript for each recorded meeting. These are accessible from the Dashboard → Recordings section in app.softsysvideo.com.
Recording retention
Section titled “Recording retention”Recordings are stored indefinitely unless you delete them manually. Storage usage is reflected in your billing dashboard.
