Screen Sharing
Section titled “Screen Sharing”Share your screen, a specific application window, or a browser tab with other participants.
Starting screen share
Section titled “Starting screen share”- Click the Screen share button in the toolbar (monitor icon)
- Your browser opens a picker — choose what to share:
- Entire screen — shares everything visible on your display
- Application window — shares only a specific app
- Browser tab — shares only one browser tab (recommended for videos and presentations)
- Click Share (or Allow)
Your shared screen appears as the main content for all participants.
Sharing a presentation
Section titled “Sharing a presentation”To present slides or documents:
- Open your presentation in your browser or a dedicated app
- Start screen share and select that window or tab
- Navigate through slides normally — participants see your screen in real time
Stopping screen share
Section titled “Stopping screen share”Click Stop sharing in the toolbar, or in the browser’s native screen share control bar.
Multiple screen shares
Section titled “Multiple screen shares”Only one person can share their screen at a time. If a participant starts sharing, the previous share is replaced.
Moderators can stop another participant’s screen share from the participant list.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Screen share button is greyed out
- Check that your browser supports screen sharing (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox recommended)
- On macOS, grant Screen Recording permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording
Participants can’t see my screen
- Make sure you clicked Share in the browser picker — the dialog needs explicit confirmation
- Try stopping and restarting the share
Low resolution or lag
- Screen shares use your upload bandwidth. Close other bandwidth-heavy applications while sharing.
